SEN Information
At Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School, we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum which nurtures our pupils to ensure they flourish and make the best possible progress. In our school we aim to offer excellence and choice to all our pupils, whatever their ability or need. All pupils are provided with high quality teaching that is adapted to meet the various needs of all learners, and different learning styles. Where it is decided that special educational provision is required to support a pupil, parents/carers will be informed that the school considers their child may require SEN support and their partnership is sought in order to improve attainment. Where necessary, external professionals such as Speech and language, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists may be referred to, in order to further help the pupil. In addition, the school will involve external agencies as appropriate including health and social services, community and voluntary organisations for advice on meeting the needs of pupils with SEND and their families.
For a small number of children this support still may not meet their needs. In this case the school can request that the Local Authority undertakes a Statutory Assessment of the child’s needs which may lead to an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
Please see our school SEN policy for further information. You can also access our SEN flowchart: Who Can Help Me, to see what the next steps are to raise any concerns you have for your child.
Our school SENCO is Mrs Henderson, who can be contacted via the school office on 02088504470 or admin@ourlady.bexley.sch.uk
